Missions EUROPA
Rome – Officine della Medicina di Precisione 2025
On 4 December 2025, at the Centro Studi Americani in Rome, the HEAL Italia Foundation brought together seven world leaders in precision medicine to build structured collaborations and attract life sciences investments to Italy, for the event entitled “The Workshops for Precision Medicine design the intelligent and personalised healthcare of the future. Pilot programme for the network of digital precision medicine centres.”
The initiative brought together scientists, entrepreneurs and institutional representatives from various countries, fostering discussion on the main trajectories of precision medicine and on opportunities for scientific and industrial collaboration, and representing a key moment in strengthening the Foundation’s international dimension. A mutual opportunity: the foreign partners were able to directly assess the scope of the innovations developed and the Foundation’s institutional standing; the Foundation was able to present its network in its entirety, thereby strengthening the credibility of the Officine project in the eyes of stakeholders who will work with it over the long term.
Interventions and Outcomes
The fourth session of the event, entitled “HEAL Italia International: Attraction of Foreign Investment and Platform for Italian Start-Ups and the Life Sciences Industry”, was opened by Prof. Gerry Melino of the University of Rome Tor Vergata and moderated by Sebastiano Peluso of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA-ICE).
The speakers included: Prof. Roya Khosravi-Far of Inno-Tech Precision Medicine (Harvard Business School); Prof. Yufang Shi of Soochow University, China; Prof. Massimo Cristofanilli and Prof. Andrea Sboner of Weill Cornell Medicine, New York; Prof. Joseph Conigliaro of Northwell Health, USA; and Prof. Hartmut Juhl of Indivumed Group, Germany.
The outcomes:
- Consolidation of relationships with international universities and research centres;
- Launch of new scientific and technological collaborations;
- Development of investment and technology transfer opportunities;
- New entries into the Foundation’s network as Participating Members, further strengthening the HEAL Italia ecosystem.
The conclusions of the event placed the mission within the broader framework of research and innovation policies in the post-NRRP period.
