The Committee supports the coordination of scientific activities and, on the occasion of its latest meeting (July 4, 2024), initiated all activities related to:
a) Analysis of the documentation produced (presentations, abstracts) during the National Forum for Precision Medicine, organized by the HUB and held in Palermo on June 13–15, 2024;
b) Drafting of the HEAL ITALIA Research and Innovation Program 2024–2027. In collaboration with the Program and Research Manager, the development of the Research and Innovation Program is planned, which among its objectives aims to consolidate and direct current research activities towards the strategic directions of European and National Programs, with primary reference to the Horizon Europe Program, and to equip the Foundation with a Research & Innovation Plan 2024–2027.

The Steering Committee is composed of a number of members selected by the Foundation’s Board of Directors from among individuals, including those external to the Foundation, who possess qualified experience in the field of research and innovation in the Foundation’s areas of activity. The Steering Committee, coordinated by Prof. Massimo Dominici, also supports the drafting of the Strategic Planning Document.

The Steering Committee:
(a) performs advisory and consultative functions in favor of the Foundation’s Board of Directors;
(b) provides opinions and information, upon request of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, on topics of interest by virtue of the Foundation’s research and innovation activities;
(c) provides support to the Foundation’s Board of Directors in carrying out its management activities of the Foundation.
