The Pascale Institute is one of Italy’s leading oncology centers and brings to the network a well-established experience in research on solid tumors, particularly in the study of drug resistance in breast cancer through advanced genomics and liquid biopsy approaches.
The innovation award at the HEAL Italia Forum 2026
On the occasion of the HEAL Italia Forum 2026, held in Palermo on June 5 and 6, Dr. Luigi Buonaguro — Head of the Complex Unit of Innovative Immunological Models at the Pascale Institute — received an innovation award for his research on the development of cancer vaccines. His work focuses on new immunotherapy approaches for human cancers, with the goal of making these tools more accessible and effective in clinical practice.
The entry of the Pascale Institute strengthens HEAL Italia’s presence in Southern Italy and contributes to the network’s goal of translating molecular research into concrete clinical tools, for the benefit of patients.
