1st Congress of the Italian Society of Liquid Biopsy (SIBIL ETS)

Liquid biopsy represents one of the most promising innovations in precision medicine, offering the possibility to non-invasively analyze dynamic biological signals useful for early diagnosis, prognostic stratification, and monitoring disease evolution. Advances in sequencing technologies, refinement of cfDNA and ctDNA analyses, and the integration of increasingly sensitive computational models are significantly expanding the potential of this approach.

The 1st Congress of the Italian Society of Liquid Biopsy (SIBIL ETS), was created with the aim of establishing a national point of reference, bringing together experts from clinical, translational, and technological fields to foster an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges associated with liquid biopsy. Central topics include test standardization, clinical validation, interpretation of low-frequency signals, harmonization of workflows, and the need for shared infrastructures. In a rapidly evolving context, it is essential to promote multidisciplinary collaboration to transform the enormous potential of these techniques into tools that are truly useful for patients.

The congress therefore aims to consolidate a cohesive scientific community, promote the circulation of new evidence, discuss sustainable organizational models, and define priorities for the implementation of liquid biopsy across different care pathways. A moment of discussion that marks the beginning of a structured and shared journey toward a future of increasingly precise and timely diagnosis and monitoring.
