Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM, the Medical Academy of Rome will host a meeting dedicated to precision medicine, featuring a conference entitled “Precision Medicine: Toward a Personalized and Efficient Healthcare System.”
The event, moderated by Professors Andrea Isidori (Sapienza University of Rome) and Mauro Piacentini (University of Rome Tor Vergata and Scientific Director of the HEAL Italia Foundation), will include contributions from nationally renowned experts who will explore the various dimensions of personalized care.
Professor Sabrina Giglio (University of Cagliari) will open with “Genomes on the Ward,” illustrating how the integration of genomics into clinical practice is revolutionizing diagnosis and therapy. Professor Piero Marchetti (University of Pisa) will analyze the heterogeneity of diabetes mellitus and the challenges of a tailored therapeutic approach. Dr. Micol Fiori (Italian National Institute of Health) will present organoids as preclinical models and a bridge toward truly personalized medicine. The conference will conclude with Professor Giorgio Stassi (University of Palermo), who will discuss the therapeutic implications arising from the study of cancer stem cells and tumor-on-chip models.
