The Heal Italia Foundation welcomes with great interest the publication of the new STEP Sicily Call, which represents a further and significant opportunity to support industrial growth and innovation within the region.
This measure adds to other important initiatives already in place across various Italian regions, both through the STEP instrument and within the framework of the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) Innovation Agreements, expanding the range of tools currently available to companies.
The objective of the STEP instrument is to foster the industrialisation of critical technologies and reduce dependence on third countries in key sectors such as, among others, digital technologies, biotechnologies, and critical technologies and medicines.
The experience gained in managing the Strategic Partnership financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) now represents a decisive added value for the Heal Italia Foundation, which is putting itself forward to lead outstanding partnerships to meet the challenges set by the administration.
In just a few years, Heal Italia has seen its working group grow and consolidate from 24 prestigious organisations to over 70 entities, including universities, IRCCS research hospitals, hospitals, and companies, with further well-known international organisations expected to join soon.
Thanks to the network of laboratories for biomarkers and genomics, the high-technology network for Diagnostics 4.0, the network of facilities, and the entire area of Drugs and Devices for the development of the Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics components applicable to them—and, not least, thanks to collaboration agreements signed with prestigious international institutions willing to share results and research also with a view to foreign investment in Italy—we are ready to steer new investments to support our country’s advancement in the field of health biotechnologies.
