The first international investment attraction mission promoted by the Heal Italia Foundation officially kicked off in New York, with the aim of strengthening the ties between the strategic Italian research and innovation chain – focused on precision medicine, diagnostics and innovative therapies – and universities, funds and companies in the United States and abroad. The mission had two main stops: New York, where high-profile meetings were held, and Boston, where the delegation continued its work the following week.
In New York, the Foundation has started a dialogue with Cornell University – Weill Cornell Medicine, with which hypotheses for collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence applied to genomics and personalized medicine for the treatment of chronic-degenerative diseases, such as cancer, have been outlined. The goal is to create an operational bridge between the Cornell Precision Medicine Center and the future Precision Medicine Centers promoted in Italy by the Heal Italia Foundation.
The mission also included an important discussion with ITA – ICE (Agency in the USA for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies), during which points of contact were identified for possible collaborations aimed at supporting the attraction of foreign investments, in particular in favor of Italian start-ups operating in the strategic sectors of biomedical research.

The mission was led by Dr. Laura Leonardis, Chief Operating Officer of the Heal Italia Foundation and Head of the Precision Medicine Centers, supported by a delegation composed of board member Bernardo Marassi and Dr. Tiziana Lipari, contact for internationalization activities.
The mission continued in the following days in Boston, thanks to participation in the Bio International Convention 2025 (scheduled from 16 to 19 June 2025 with more than 20 thousand professionals from over 60 countries around the world and a global point of reference for the entire biotech supply chain) with further institutional and academic meetings aimed at strengthening scientific collaborations and attracting new investments towards Italy.
